We are a small school for young people who have found school hard.
Pledge2Learn is an independent special school in Scunthorpe for students aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health needs, many of whom are autistic.
Where we are
The school is based at Bottesford Town Football Club. There are no corridors, no bells, no crowds to get through. There is a pitch, a kitchen, and rooms small enough that everybody knows each other.
How we work
Teaching is in very small groups, and one-to-one where a student needs it. The environment is calm and the demands are manageable. That is not the same as expecting less. We expect a great deal, but we take the pressure out of how it gets done.
Students work towards real qualifications. They also learn to cook, to travel independently, to manage money and to ask for help. For many of the young people we teach, those last things matter just as much.
What Ofsted found
Ofsted inspected us in January 2025 and judged the school Good. Inspectors described a caring ethos, a personalised approach to learning, and noted that our values run right through the school. They also told us what to improve, and we have published that too.
