To ensure continuous support, several members of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) are fully trained DSLs, providing full safeguarding coverage throughout the school day.
The safeguarding inbox is monitored by our safeguarding team during school hours in term time.

If you are worried about a child and it cannot wait until the next school day, contact North Lincolnshire Children’s Services Single Point of Contact on 01724 296500, or 01724 296555 out of hours.
What happens when you tell us something
We record every safeguarding concern securely. The Designated Safeguarding Lead reviews it with the safeguarding team and decides what happens next.
That might be support in school, a conversation with you, or a referral to Children’s Services. Where the threshold for a referral to children’s social care is met, we have a legal duty to make one. Occasionally we have to call the police.
We will tell you what we have done, unless that would put a child at greater risk. We cannot always share everything, and sometimes we have to act without a parent’s agreement. If that happens, we will say so.

If your concern is about the Head of School, or you would rather not raise it inside school at all, contact Patrick Lappin, Chair of the Proprietor Body, or go directly to the North Lincolnshire Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) at lado@northlincs.gov.uk or 01724 298293. You do not need our permission, and you do not need to come to us first.
Operation Encompass
We take part in Operation Encompass. Where police attend a domestic abuse incident and a child from our school was present or living in the household, they notify our Designated Safeguarding Lead before the next school day. It means we already know a student may arrive tired or on edge, and can offer support quietly, without them having to explain anything.
What we expect of our staff
Everyone here is recruited under our safer recruitment procedures, including an enhanced DBS check with a children’s barred list check. All staff read and follow Part 1 of Keeping Children Safe in Education, and safeguarding training is refreshed on a rolling cycle. Staff are trained in Team Teach for the rare occasions when physical intervention is needed.
